We’re partnering with a creative fabrication firm that builds custom environments for live events, brand activations, and permanent installations. They’re known for precision, speed, and the ability to turn complex ideas into experiences.

They’re looking for a CAD Engineer who loves solving technical challenges and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative shop environment. This is an onsite role based in the Mid-Atlantic region, working closely with project managers, designers, and fabrication teams to turn ideas into fully engineered, buildable solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate concepts into precise 3D CAD models that balance design, structure, and cost

• Collaborate with project leads to define requirements and solve for constraints early

• Engineer smart, efficient solutions using aluminum extrusions and other fabrication materials

• Produce detailed, easy-to-read shop drawings with dimensions, color keys, and callouts

• Create CNC-ready files for custom or non-standard parts

• Support fast-paced turnaround—often delivering drawing packages within 24 hours

• Develop renderings or assembly instructions when needed for the team or client

• Pitch in during high-volume periods to keep things moving

• Communicate directly with shop teams to clarify drawings and assist with builds

• Contribute ideas to improve systems, materials use, or workflow

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience in CAD and 3D modeling, ideally for custom fabrication

• Strong knowledge of exhibit fabrication materials and production processes

• Ability to turn rough concepts into build-ready drawings

• Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative environments

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
